Life is a science fiction horror film directed by Daniel Espinosa and starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson and Ryan Reynolds. The film follows a crew aboard the International Space Station as they study a sample of organic matter brought by a space probe returning from Mars. Their studies verify the sample is the first proof of extraterrestrial life, but the experiments backfire as the organism gains intelligence and begins growing rapidly. Trapped aboard the ISS, the crew must find out how to kill the being before it escapes to Earth.

The original soundtrack to Life was composed by director Espinosa’s frequent collaborator Jon Ekstrand (Easy Money, Child 44).
Ekstrand has crafted a score, which sets an ominous mood for the film which builds expertly before giving way to the sheer terror of being pursued in an isolated otherworldly environment.
