Un Sac de Billes

In the occupied France, two young Jewish brothers, Maurice and Joseph, were sent by their parents to the free zone, and displayed malice, courage and ingenuity to escape the occupiers and try to reunite their families. Adapted from self-titled book by Joseph Joffo, “Un Sac de Billes” is the new film by Christian Duguay, after “Jappeloup” and “Belle& Sebastian: The Adventure Continues”.

The score to “Un Sac de Billes” was composed by Armand Amar, one of the most emblematic artists of his generation. French of Moroccan origin (born in Jerusalem), Armand Amar has been providing us an extra-European musical journey since the beginning of his career. His music testifies his African, oriental, Latino influences. His first score was for Costa-Gavras’ “Amen” in 2002, and he won the César Award for Best Original Music in 2010 for the soundtrack of “Le Concert” directed by Radu Mihăileanu.
Here is his brand new soundtrack album, “Un Sac de Billes”, a wonderful collection of themes played by pianist Julien Carton and solo vionist Sarah Nemtanu.
