Filmmusicsite.com talked to the composer of The Last of Us!

Filmmusicsite.com had the opportunity to talk to composer Gustavo Santaolalla. Gustavo Santaolalla is a talented musician, composer and producer who is born in Argentina. He started to play the guitar at the age of five. He performed music and worked with a lot of artists such as Malta Vecindad, Julieta Venegas, Los Prisioneros and many more. By the year of 2000 he started his career as a composer for film. He forges a lasting friendship with director Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu for whom he composes the original score for his films “Amores Perros”, ”21 Grams”, “Babel” and “Biutiful”. He is also the third composer in history to win two Oscar awards consecutively, for the Ang Lee film “Brokeback Mountain' in 2006, and Iñarritu for 'Babel' in 2007. In 2013 he writes the music to the videogame The Last of Us. It’s the first videogame he worked on and I became a massive success. In 2020 he worked on the follow up The Last of Us II. Now HBO created a television series of The Last of Us. Gustavo Santaolalla wrote the music together with David Fleming.
