Original soundtrack to lavish ABC TV mini-series from classic John Steinbeck novel, starring Jane Seymour, Timothy Bottoms, Lloyd Bridges. Lee Holdridge creates stirring orchestral score with balance of rich Americana melody, surging action, emotional drama. Woodwind scoring a particular standout. Search for 1981 LP master elements from Elektra label, film studio was futile so original reference disc made for composer is used for transfer. Happily, during search, studio located additional 26-minutes of previously unreleased music from mono masters. Resulting CD is over 79 minutes long! Original LP cover art, brief comments from composer, color stills complete package. Gianfranco Plenizio conducts Members of the Unione Musicisti di Roma & Santa Cecilia Orchestra of Rome. Intrada Signature Edition limited to 1000 copies!
