Morricone Segreto N°3

One of the few rare insights into the jazz and improv side of Maestro Morricone.
The third instalment of the series unveiling the hidden treasures of oscar-winning composer Ennio Morricone, fully remastered and reissued in vinyl for the first time since its first and only release in 1982.

Featuring a new artwork by Eric Adrian Lee and exclusive liner notes from iconic actor Franco Nero and Morricone’s long-time pianist Enrico Pieranunzi.

This soundtrack, composed by Ennio Morricone, is one of the rare occasions to hear the Maestro venture into the world of jazz.

The main theme, Città Viva, a lively and metropolitan piece. For this opus, Morricone surrounded himself with his friend and collaborator Enrico Pieranunzi (piano), Roberto Gatto (drums) and Riccardo Del Fra (double bass).

Marked by a frantic rhythm, the music is perfectly suited to the atmosphere of the film, shot in Genoa, one of the most iconic cities of the poliziottesco, an Italian film genre in vogue from the late 1960s to the early 1980s, with Franco Nero, one of the genre's biggest stars, in the title role.
