Milan Records releases Ten Percent with an original series soundtrack by renowned film composer and multi-instrumentalist, Rael Jones (The Salisbury Poisonings, My Cousin Rachel, Suite Française).

Available everywhere now, the album features score music written by Jones for the eagerly anticipated series, streaming on Sundance Now and AMC+.

Rael Jones’ rhythmic and lively soundscape deftly underscores the pace, fun and comedic drama of the series and the composer makes free use of a Latin feel throughout, variously smoothly seductive and pulsing with energy in turns.
Emmy Award-nominated on three occasions, London-based, classically trained Jones is celebrated for being creatively adept, hugely talented and very versatile in his approach to his work, which ranges from composer, music producer, orchestrator, music editor and music programmer to performer.
He recorded the original series soundtrack during October and November 2021 at the Masterchord Studios in London.

Of the soundtrack, composer RAEL JONES commented, “I’m such a fan of the original French series, so it was a joy to be asked to write a soundtrack for this British re-imagining.
It features fun, energetic music from me, using lots of Latin percussion, bass, guitars, piano, a string section and screeching trumpets. My biggest motivation was to put something joyful and kind into a world that is increasingly fractious, and I’ve taken influence from Latin music as it has the most infectious pizzazz of any music I know. Hopefully the overall effect is like a friendly voice inviting the listener to join in on this journey.'

Inspired by the highly-acclaimed and much-loved original French comedy-drama series of the same name ‘Dix Pour Cent’ (known in the UK as ‘Call My Agent!’) this welcome British re-make is written by BAFTA Award-winner John Morton (‘W1A’, ‘People Like Us’, ‘Twenty Twelve’) and is produced by BRON Studios and Headline Pictures.
With uniquely British sensibilities, it offers an insight into the workings of a London talent agency following the sudden death of its founder. Keenly reflective of national differences and with the introduction of new storylines whereby it importantly creates its own identity, a star-studded cast plays the London agency staff, including Jim Broadbent, Jack Davenport, Lydia Leonard, Prasanna Puwanarajah and Maggie Steed and, as in the French original, ‘Ten Percent’ is brimming with coveted celebrity cameos from such luminaries as Helen Bonham Carter, David Harewood, Kelly Macdonald, David Oyelowo and Dominic West.

About Rael Jones

Rael Jones is an Emmy nominated composer and multi-instrumentalist. His writing often stems from improvisation and live performance, and he is a highly accomplished player of a variety of instruments from piano, guitars and drums to more esoteric items like nyckelharpa, hurdy gurdy and hand pans. Recent work has included scoring the period drama Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris and the BBC factual drama The Salisbury Poisonings. He created the soundtrack for the Fox Searchlight romantic thriller, My Cousin Rachel, starring Rachel Weisz and Sam Claflin, directed by Roger Michell, which earned him a nomination for “Discovery of The Year” at the World Soundtrack Awards.

Rael Jones’s score to Suite Française, directed by Saul Dibb and starring Michelle Williams, Kristen Scott Thomas and Sam Riley was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in 2017. The film is based on the Irène Némirovsky novels about the German occupation in France. He also wrote the music for Hulu & ITV’s series, Harlots, set in the 18th century brothels of London.

The boldly anachronistic soundtrack mixes rock and electronica, reflecting the experiences and rebellious nature of the women depicted in the series. His other scores include Supersonic, the Oasis documentary from the producers of the Oscar- winning Amy; the TV adaptation of Zadie Smith’s NW, directed by Saul Dibb; the black comedy Ill Behaviour from writer Sam Bain; the coming-of-age drama Kids in Love and the feature documentary Still the Enemy Within about the British mining strikes of the 1980s.

He has also contributed additional music for the four series of the BBC’s hit drama, Sherlock, working with composers David Arnold and Michael Price and was nominated for Emmys for his work on the series in both 2016 and 2017.

Other additional composition credits for Jones include Everest, Horrid Henry: The Movie and Island. He also worked on Tom Hooper’s film adaptation of Les Miserables as additional orchestrator, music editor and music programmer, for which he won a Golden Reel Award at the 2013 MPSE Awards.

Other notable film credits include Steve Jobs, The Danish Girl, Alan Partridge, The Inbetweeners movie, Hyde Park on Hudson (as Music Editor) and, additionally, Wild Target and Wild Child (as Music Producer).
