Set in the Wild West early days of the Internet, “Pam & Tommy” is based on the incredible true story of the Pamela Anderson (Lily James) and Tommy Lee (Sebastian Stan) sex tape. Stolen from the couple’s home by a disgruntled contractor (Seth Rogen), the video went from underground bootleg-VHS curiosity to full-blown global sensation when it hit the Web in 1997.
A love story, crime caper and cautionary tale rolled into one, the eight-part original limited series explores the intersection of privacy, technology and celebrity, tracing the origins of our current reality TV Era to a stolen tape seen by millions but meant to have an audience of just two.

Says Margeson: “Creating a musical world for the ‘Pam & Tommy’ story turned out to be such a rewarding, yet challenging journey. Coming from a more orchestral background, not being able to lean on those tools as a crutch definitely meant pushing myself into uncomfortable musical territory. Working together with Seth, Craig, DV & Rob was always a collaborative and encouraging process; we always tried to treat this pop culture incident with the attention and care it deserved.”

Matthew Margeson

Matthew Margeson is an American composer who has written and arranged music for some of the most memorable films of the last 10 years, including Fox’s smash franchise Kingsman, Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (2016), Eddie The Eagle (2016), and Paramount’s musical fantasy, Rocketman.

The score for his first studio feature, Universal Studios’ Skyline (2010), led to a nomination for the BSOSPIRIT Revelation Composer Award at the Úbeda Film Music Festival. Margeson’s score for Eddie The Eagle earned nominations for ASCAP’s Composers Choice Award, and the World Soundtrack Award’s Public Choice Award and Discovery Of The Year Award.

Multi-talented and versatile, Margeson has also worked on a variety of successful television series and video games, including TBS’s Wrecked, HBO’s Eastbound And Down, and Sony Playstation’s All-Star Battle Royale and Knack. He also has produced songs for Warner Brother’s PAN. His music can be heard on both the Universal Studios and Warner Bros. backlot tram tours.

In the past year, Margeson has completed his score for the third installment of the Kingsman franchise, The King’s Man, and Hulu’s limited series, Pam & Tommy. He is currently working on the underscore for Disney Television Animation’s, Alice’s Wonderland Bakery, as well as Sony’s musical adaptation of Bernard Waber’s children’s book, Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile
