Lakeshore Records has released Nathan Halpern’s score to Film Independent Awards-nominated revenge thriller, Catch The Fair One!
Lakeshore Records has released Nathan Halpern’s score to Film Independent Awards-nominated revenge thriller, Catch The Fair One!
Nathan’s score previously made its premiere at ComingSoon.net, in which the publication says “the score merges ominous orchestrations with tension-filled electronics that provide a dark backdrop to the revenge thriller.” View full album details and access listening links below.
“The tension slices you up from the inside, rendered all the more ominous by composer Nathan Halpern.” – Variety
Directed by Josef Kubota Wladyka and starring real-life boxer Kali Reis, IFC FILMS’ Catch The Fair One film is in theaters.
Native American boxer Kaylee embarks on the fight of her life when she goes undercover in a sex trafficking operation to seek answers and revenge against the men responsible for the disappearance of her sister.
Notes Halpern:
“For ‘Catch the Fair One’ director Josef Kubota Wladyka wanted a bold score that would honor Kaylee’s (Kalie Reis) emotional journey into this dark underworld. The opening theme plays Kaylee’s heroic intentions in a melody for French Horn and Wagner Tube over dark strings and synths. Solo viola, frame drum, and heartbeat-like pulses play her forward momentum, set against deep imposing strings and ghostly electronics that grow increasingly distorted as her journey grows darker. The human-rights crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women – and the wrenching disappearance of her sister Weeta – is set to a recurring, elegaic theme for strings and electronics.”
