Milan Records releases In Treatment (HBO® Original Series Soundtrack) with music by producer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter and vocalist Devonté Hynes. Available everywhere, the album features score music written by Hynes for the Season 4 reimagining of HBO’s ™ Emmy®-winning drama.

The project is the latest scoring effort from Hynes, following his critically-acclaimed score for director Luca Guadagnino’s HBO Original series We Are Who We Are and, most recently, his score to the Gia Coppola-directed film Mainstream. Season 4 of In Treatment is available to watch on HBO and to stream on HBO Max.

About In Treatment:
Emmy® winner Uzo Aduba (Mrs. America, Orange is the New Black) plays the lead role of Dr. Brooke Taylor, the observant and empathetic therapist at the center of the season. The reimagining of the series is set in present-day Los Angeles and brings a diverse trio of patients into session with Brooke as they navigate a variety of relevant concerns. Issues such as the global pandemic and recent major social and cultural shifts are a backdrop to the work Brooke undertakes – all while dealing with complications in her own personal life.

In Treatment also stars Anthony Ramos (Hamilton) as Eladio, who works as a home health aide for a wealthy family’s adult son; Liza Colón-Zayas (David Makes Man) as Rita, Brooke’s longtime confidant and friend who supports Brooke as she contends with her own demons after a life-altering loss; John Benjamin Hickey (Jessica Jones) as Colin, a charming millionaire beach bum turned whitecollar criminal reckoning with all the ways his life has changed following his recent release from prison; Quintessa Swindell (Euphoria) as Laila, Brooke’s distrustful, teenage client, struggling to carve out her own identity separate from her family’s overbearing expectations; and Joel Kinnaman (For All Mankind) as Adam, Brooke’s long-time on-again, off-again boyfriend who has resurfaced to create further complexity for her.

In Treatment is produced by HBO; executive producers Jennifer Schuur, Joshua Allen, Stephen Levinson, Mark Wahlberg, Melissa Bernstein, and Hagai Levi; Joanne Toll and Noa Tishby serve as co-executive producers. In Treatment is produced in association with Woman of Letters, Leverage, Closest to the Hole Productions, Sheleg and based on the Israeli series, “Be‘Tipul,” created by Hagai Levi with Ori Sivan & Nir Bergman.

In 1998, Trumpp attended the Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television Program at the University of Southern California, where he received training from such film music luminaries as Elmer Bernstein, David Raksin, and Leonard Rosenman. Upon completion, ASCAP selected Trumpp to attend its Film Scoring Workshop, which made one of his biggest dreams come true — to work with the Hollywood Studio Symphony.
Trumpp continues to collaborate with some of the world’s most outstanding musicians, composers and orchestrators. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California.

About Devonté Hynes:
Producer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter and vocalist Devonté Hynes is one of the most influential voices in music today. Raised in England, Hynes started out as a teenage punk in the UK band Test Icicles before releasing two orchestral acoustic pop records as Lightspeed Champion. In 2011, he released Coastal Grooves, the first of four solo albums under the moniker Blood Orange.
His 2016 album, Freetown Sound, was released to critical acclaim, and saw Hynes defined as one of the foremost musical voices of his time, receiving comparisons to the likes of Kendrick Lamar and D’Angelo for his own searing and soothing personal document of life as a black man in America. His 2018 album, Negro Swan, was released to equally rapturous response, exploring elements of black depression and identity.
It was followed by a mixtape entitled Angel’s Pulse in 2019. He has collaborated with Solange Knowles, fka twigs, ASAP Rocky, Puff Daddy, Janet Mock, and many more, and was recently one of four artists invited to the Kennedy Center to perform alongside Philip Glass.
In addition to his production work, he scored the film Palo Alto, directed by Gia Coppola, as well as the film Queen & Slim, by Lena Waithe and directed by Melina Matsoukas. In 2020, Hynes appeared in, and released the score to, the Luca Guadagnino HBO show We Are Who We Are.
His other recent score work includes the Gia Coppola-directed film Mainstream and Season 4 of the HBO series In Treatment.
