Lakeshore Records has released the soundtrack to The Marksman, featuring music by Emmy Award-winning Composer Sean Callery (“Homeland“, “Jessica Jones“). Callery’s expansive yet intimate score reflects both the high drama of the action thriller as well as the personal connection of the two protagonists.

The soundtrack is released digitally since January 29, 2021.

The Marksman is directed by Robert Lorenz with Liam Neeson, Katheryn Winnick, Teresa Ruiz and Juan Pablo Raba.

Hardened Arizona rancher Jim Hanson (Liam Neeson) simply wants to be left alone as he fends off eviction notices and tries to make a living on an isolated stretch of borderland. But everything changes when Hanson, an ex-Marine, witnesses 11-year-old migrant Miguel (Jacob Perez) fleeing with his mother Rosa (Teresa Ruiz) from drug cartel assassins led by the ruthless Mauricio (Juan Pablo Raba).
After being caught in a shoot-out, an injured Rosa begs Jim to take her son to safety to her family in Chicago. Defying his step-daughter Sarah (Katheryn Winnick), Jim sneaks Miguel out of the local U.S. Customs and Border Patrol station and together, they hit the road with the group of killers in pursuit.
Jim and Miguel slowly begin to overcome their differences and begin to forge an unlikely friendship, while Mauricio and his fellow assassins blaze a cold-blooded trail, hot on their heels.

Callery about The Marksman:
Says Callery: “It was a joy to compose the music for this moving film. I was inspired to create a score that journeys along with these two good hearted but lost souls, who are thrown together under the most random and tragic of circumstances. As with any meaningful journey, they face great challenges and struggles, as well as hard fought triumphs, and along the way they forge a bond that sows the seeds of their own healing and forgiveness.
The score embodies this journey, from the expansiveness of the open road that Hanson and Miguel are racing across, to the personal kinship that forms between them as they rely on each other for their own survival.”
