Disques Cinémusique presents the complete LP soundtrack album to the 1957 movie Fire Down Below directed by Robert Parrish and starring Rita Hayworth, Robert Mitchum and Jack Lemmon.
This is not a digital premiere for this soundtrack but we believe our version offers a better sound quality than the several ones already available inline.
Most likely for marketing reasons, the main credit on the original LP release goes to the renowned conductor Muir Mathieson with the London Sinfonia. However, the music was actually composed by Kenneth V. Jones, completed with a title-song written by Ned Washington and Lester Lee, and two instrumental pieces by other contributors.
The Fire Down Below score consist in a mix of dramatic cues and joyful dances. This is one of the very few Kenneth V. Jones’ soundtracks to be released on record. This British musician was more active as a conductor of symphony music and as a teacher.
