Parallax Sounds' original music stars post rock and jazz musician, composer and improviser Ken Vandermark as its leading original music composer. Vandermark's work is interpreted by Parallax Ensemble, which comprises some of the key members of the post rock movement (see Original Music Interprets). Grubbs was a member of the groups Gastr del Sol, Bastro, and Squirrel Bait.
