Digitmovies releases Detto Mariano’s “The taming of the scoundrel” (aka “Il bisbetico domato”) OST, for the first time on LP.

Digitmovies releases Detto Mariano’s “The taming of the scoundrel” (aka “Il bisbetico domato”) OST, for the first time on LP.

The Soundtrack ;

The dear departed Detto Mariano wrote a very enjoyable comment, based on a love theme, that he retakes with pleasant instrumental variations alternated to funny tracks.
The opening credits are introduced by the dance song “Step on dynamite” by “Clown”, which we will find later in two alternatives instrumental takes, and “La pigiatura”, performed by the choir with Patrizia Tapparelli, Mariano Perrella and Simona Aloisi.
This latter track is the theme of the main movie scene, in which Elia dances while foot-crushing grapes in a big wooden vat.

For this edition we utilized original recording session’s mono masters, integrated with rare stereo tracks, from Detto Mariano Estate archives, which bring the total LP running time up to 42:00 minutes.
This edition also features the extremely rare “Si e no” (lyrics by the directors) both in Patrizia Tapparelli’s version and in the alternative instrumental take, try-outs for the end credits that remained unused.

Direction And Cast :

Directed by Castellano and Pipolo in 1980 and starring Adriano Celentano, Ornella Muti, Edith Peters, Pippo Santonastaso, Milly Carlucci, Sandro Ghiani, Nicola De Buono, Fosco Gasperi, Enzo De Toma, Jimmy il Fenomeno, Gianni Coletto, Marco Columbro, Guido Spadea, Angelo Mainardi, Elena Mari. i.

The Plot :

Elia is a farmer from Rovignano, a small town in the countryside near Voghera.
He’s a misanthrope, he can’t stand anyone except for Father Cirillo, which he always confesses to.
He especially can’t stand women, a part from Mamy, his housekeeper, who always tries to find him a girlfriend able to appease him. However, Elia only loves his animals and seems to be able to communicate with them, so much that he plays chess with his dog.
Everything changes in a night, when a charming woman named Lisa breaks down and asks for help with her car. She hopes that the farmer can host her for the night.
The first impression is not the best: the man is grouchy and rude to the woman and his manners leaves a lot to be desired. As time goes by, though, she gets closer to him, so much that she cheats on her husband Vittorio.
Although Elia’s stubborness is quite an obstacle to overcome, Lisa will try her best to seduce the grumpy farmer, until she succeeds.
