This autumn September 1st, 2023, acclaimed filmmaker Rebecca Miller presents She Came To Me, a new romantic comedy starring Hollywood sensations Anne Hathaway, Peter Dinklage, and Marisa Tomei.

The original score, composed by GRAMMY® Award winner Bryce Dessner, will be released internationally by Warner Classics and UNIGRAM on September 29th.
The film will officially release in the US on October 6th, 2023.

Out today is the first single from the album titled “Julian and Tereza”. This romantic piano-led piece accompanies the two young supporting characters, played by Harlow Jane and Evan Ellison, who’s love for each other is a centrepiece for the film.

The soundtrack for the film was born from an “intimate process” of collaboration, according to Miller. Typically, film composers are brought in as part of the post-production stage. In this case, Dessner was invited to work on the film before shooting began and worked closely with Miller from the very beginning. This was essential given that the soundtrack incorporates two on-screen operas, both integral to the film’s narrative.

The soundtrack release will include a new song Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa, “Addicted to Romance.” Inspired by the film itself, the song is also written by Springsteen with production by Ron Aniello and Bryce Dessner, who called the collaboration the fulfilment of “a lifelong dream”. Miller described Springsteen’s contribution as “a great honour”.

Dessner cited She Came To Me as “one of the most rewarding and creative experiences I have had”. He explained that the partnership allowed him to “make the music that I wanted to make, and so it’s the first film where the music really resembles my music for the concert hall.”

Miller added: “The collaborative nature of film is what's so exciting. I can write a book by myself but with this film, I was able to work with Bryce’s brilliance. There was a challenge channel between us, and we shared in each other’s creativity.”
The score features internationally celebrated French pianist Katia Labèque, and the operatic sequences in the film showcase the vocal talents of Greer Grimsley, Alicia Hall Moran, Isabel Leonard and Emmett O’Hanlon. The soundtrack is conducted by André de Ridder.

About She Came To Me :

Just weeks before the deadline for his latest commission, composer Steven Lauddem (Emmy® winner Peter Dinklage) has lost the creative spark that brought him international acclaim. At the urging of his ever-patient wife Patricia (Academy Award® winner Anne Hathaway), he searches for inspiration on the Brooklyn waterfront and finds it in Katrina (Academy Award® winner Marisa Tomei), a thrill-seeking tugboat captain docked in Red Hook, who soon has Steven questioning everything in his life. Their co-stars include Joanna Kulig and Brian d’Arcy James.

About Bryce Dessner :

Bryce Dessner is a vital and rare force in new music. He has won Grammy Awards as a classical composer and with the band The National, of which he is founding member, guitarist, arranger, and co-principal song-writer.
