Arriving Friday, July 17, 2023 are two albums of music written by Wiesenfeld for the series, which originally began as a cult classic web series before being rebooted by Netflix this past Fall as Bee & PuppyCat: Lazy in Space.

Best known for releasing music under aliases Baths and Geotic, Wiesenfeld brings a wealth of experience to the project, infusing the series with an electronic soundscape complimenting the show’s animation style. Today’s announcement arrives alongside lead singles “What’s Your Favorite Color? (Extended)” and “Galactic Boom,” both fitting introductions to the breadth of Wiesenfeld’s work on the series. Created by Natasha Allegri, Bee and PuppyCat: Lazy in Space is available to stream exclusively on Netflix .

Of the release, composer Will Wiesenfeld says, “It's been a wonderful experience working on the music for Bee and PuppyCat! The goal is always to meet the creator's vision as best as possible, and I think Natasha Allegri's clarity of vision made the process a breeze.

The most fun challenge for me was allowing humor and cuteness to leave enough room for emotion when necessary, while not letting any one thing get in the way of the other.

I'm very proud of the balance we struck. It's also been fascinating to realize how well the music translates into a soundtrack format! I already made an effort to have an inherent listenability to the score while composing for the show, but then to hear the music isolated in this way, with everything running together, it really made the cues for the show feel like songs, and for the soundtrack to play like fully realized records.
I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out.'

About Bee And Puppycat

From its start as an animated short to a very popular YouTube series on Kartoon Studios’ Frederator Network’s Cartoon Hangover Channel, Bee and PuppyCat has amassed over 70 million views to date, in addition to 2.5 million fans and counting across all social media channels.

Will Wiesenfeld is a Los Angeles-based musician who has been composing original music for over 15 years, primarily under the aliases of Baths and Geotic for labels such as Anticon, Ghostly International, Hardly Art, and more.
Will’s output under his own name has been reserved but ever-present throughout his career as the composer for the Netflix original series Bee and Puppycat (Natasha Allegri), and Dean Fleischer-Camp’s David and The Bible.
