Available for the first time outside of Japan, the first CD offers the complete score to Akira Kurosawa’s classic film masterpiece, Seven Samurai, painstakingly recreated using only what some have called the original acoustical instrument — the human voice. Fumio Hayasaka’s memorable music has never sounded better, and includes the “Seven Samurai” song.
Due to the resounding success of Bukimisha’s first two albums, BSX Records is proud to present a spectacular 2-CD set celebrating the film career of world-renown actor Toshiro Mifune.

Fumio Hayasaka’s memorable music has never sounded better, and includes the “Seven Samurai” song.
The presentation is capped by a spectacular 20 minute suite!
The second CD features a 15-track collection of suites and themes selected from a variety of Mifune films, all composed by legendary maestro Akira Ifukube. The disc begins with Snow Trail, this film is notable for launching the careers of both men back in 1947. Other highlights include expanded suites exclusive to this release from The Secret Scrolls, Daredevil In The Castle, Chushingura, Love And Faith, Zatoichi Meets Yojimbo and The Three Treasures.
For several decades, this self-proclaimed ‘secret society,’ whose name roughly translates as “Creepy Company,” has enthralled audiences with amazing ‘a Capella’ vocal stylings throughout their native Japan.
They have transformed their love of film music into a unique art form, building an impressive catalog of over 150 albums.
Many of these feature Ifukube’s vast library of classical compositions and almost 25 complete film scores recorded to date. Bukimisha was even given the opportunity to perform before the legendary composer at one of his final birthday celebrations.
BSX Records is proud and excited to once more offer the unique performance art of Bukimisha to movie music fans outside of Japan. This album has been mastered by James Nelson at Digital Outland from the group’s original digital recordings, all supervised and approved by Takeo Yahiro & their great mentor, Dr. Bukimi. Exclusive liner notes by author David Hirsch details Toshiro Mifune’s life, career, and the films featured.
