The Story:
Mike Drinkwater is lost. His father, Hank, is hardly the role model Mike deserves. A young woman moves to town, and their friendship gives them the courage to overcome their challenges.

“Drinkwater is coming-of-age story between Wallace and Mike, two socially awkward teens living in small town whose lives become intertwined as their friendship grows. Director Stephen Campanelli and editor Christoper A.Smith from the outset had a clear and concise vision to share with me as to what their hopes for the music would need to encompass.
I took their lead and began work right away being drawn to a number of instruments including auto harp, mountain dulcimer, acoustic and electric guitars and a beautiful virtual instrument called a niue, that’s based on wine glass recordings.
This was the foundation for the score.
Simple and thoughtful motifs that would become as integral to the story as the characters themselves.
It was a cathartic experience creating the music for this movie as I was able to draw far back into my emotional headspace when I was a teenager and use some of my experiences as inspiration while fashioning the musical journey for this movie.” – Rich Walters
The Composer:
Based in Los Angeles and Vancouver, composer Rich Walters gained his musical education at Capilano University, majoring in music theory, composition and arranging.
He started out his career as a music editor, working on dozens of projects, including television series (Just Cause, Continuum), TV movies (Nick Willing’s Alice) and feature films (Neill Blomkamp’s Elysium).
As a composer, his work ranges from television shows (Riese, Dussault Inc.) and movies (Ring of Fire) to providing additional music to the sci-fi extravaganza Chappie. His list of accolades include a Leo Award, 2 Emmy nominations and 2 Canadian Screen Award nominations.
His score for the SyFy Channel series Olympus as well as his music for the Van Helsing series have been issued by MovieScore Media.
