The Story: A troubled teenage girl runs away to Mexico to find the father she has never known. Together they learn that a family can be put back together, even if all they have are the missing pieces.
The Score: “The first time I watched the multiple ‘Audience Award’ winner Gringa, directed by Marny Eng and EJ Foerster, I was deeply moved by the touching story of a daughter, Marge (Jess Gabor), who goes in search of her father (Steve Zahn), who had left his family when she was young.
The impact they both have on each other’s lives, both good and bad, is an incredibly poignant journey, spiced with Steve Zahn’s and Judy Greer’s incredible comedic and dramatic talents.
Split between LA and Mexico, the score allows for both tender and poignant thematic themes as well as fun latin influenced moments.
The band features Luis Conte (percussion), Gil Sharone (drums), Tyler Bates (guitars and bass), Ximena Sariñana (vocals) and the late Ramon Stagnaro on guitar beautifully mixed by multi Latin Grammy Award winner Gustavo Borner.” – Timothy Williams
The Composer: Timothy Williams is a multi-award winning composer best known for his work on Brightburn, Get Out, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, Deadpool 2, Hobbs and Shaw, Butterfly Circus and Robert Duvall’s Wild Horses.
A graduate of the National Film and Television School, Williams has won numerous awards and currently holds over 110 feature film credits. Besides the movies above for which he orchestrated and wrote additional music for, Williams also conducted the scores for Christopher Robin, Hidden Figures, Annabelle Creation, It and It 2.
His previous releases with MovieScore Media include the romantic drama, Finding You, the Alzheimer’s documentary Have You Heard About Greg? and the horror She Came from the Woods.
