80 for Brady

Award-winning composer John Debney scores Paramount Pictures’ 80 for Brady, starring Rita Moreno, Sally Field, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin.

Award-winning composer John Debney scores Paramount Pictures’ 80 for Brady, starring Rita Moreno, Sally Field, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin.

Inspired by a true friendship, 80 for Brady is a comical, yet genuinely emotional tale of four women, over the age of 80, who set out to pay homage to quarterback Tom Brady’s refusal to ever give up—only to have to tap into that same spirit on the craziest trip of their long and amazing journey together. Tom Brady co-stars in the film and came on-board as a producer.

John Debney recorded the score with a 60-piece orchestra.
The film features the original song “Gonna Be You” written by 14-time Oscar nominated songwriter Diane Warren and performed by Dolly Parton, Cyndi Lauper, Belinda Carlisle, Gloria Estefan, and Debby Harry.

Prolific composer John Debney has scored numerous iconic films including comedies Elf, Liar Liar, and Bruce Almighty.
His repertoire also includes adventure films like Iron Man and Spy Kids, the powerful and poignant Oscar nominated The Passion of the Christ, sci-fi action Predators, horror Dream House, romance Valentine’s Day and Princess Diaries, and musicals like The Greatest Showman. Debney’s most recent releases include Apple’s Luck and Disney’s Hocus Pocus 2; he scored the original Hocus Pocus 30 years ago.
He also co-composed Symphony of Three: Peace, Love, and Tolerance, an epic orchestral work commissioned by the Abu Dhabi Festival to exemplify the message of tolerance unifying the three faiths ― Islam, Judaism and Christianity, with composers Emirati Ihab Darwish and David Shire.
The symphony will be performed live in Abu Dhabi in March.

About 80 for Brady:

Four true legends of the screen join forces as gutsy ringleader Lou (Lily Tomlin), glam, feisty Trish (Jane Fonda), adventurous, tireless Maura (Rita Moreno), and smart, down-to-earth Betty (Sally Field).
These decades-long BFFs have been watching football together for years—complete with their own superstitions, rituals, and jerseys.
Still, the ultimate dream of attending the Super Bowl has never seemed within reach—more so now that most of them are over 80.
So, when tickets unexpectedly come their way, the foursome toss caution to the wind, heading into misadventures no one saw coming, from hot wings to hot guys, from mischief to mayhem…even before momentous Super Bowl LI begins.
