Node Records is thrilled to announce the release of the soundtrack to Something in the Dirt featuring original music by The Album Leaf aka Jimmy LaValle.
From the acclaimed directing team of Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson, this paranormal sci-fi dark comedy is an homage to DIY filmmaking at its finest. It tells the story of John and Levi, two neighbors who witness supernatural events in their Los Angeles apartment building.
When they realize documenting the paranormal could inject some fame and fortune into their wasted lives, they go down an ever-deeper, darker rabbit hole and their friendship frays as they uncover the dangers of the phenomena, the city and each other.
Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, known as Moorhead&Benson, are the co-directing team behind the 2018 sci-fi cult hit The Endless, as well as the horror-romance Spring, Synchronic starring Anthony Mackie, and the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival sleeper success Resolution.
With a do-it-yourself approach to filmmaking, they often wear as many hats as possible on their films: writing, directing, acting, producing, cinematography, editing, and visual effects.
Along with their producing partner David Lawson, they run the boutique indie production company Rustic Films.
They have most recently directed episodes of the Netflix series Archive 81, and Marvel’s hit series Moon Knight starring Oscar Isaac. Something in the Dirt is their fifth feature film and fourth collaboration with The Album Leaf.
