Dirk Brossé nominated with film score ‘Our Nature’ for prestigious international IFMCA Award.
Last Thursday, the nominations for the International Film Music Critics Awards (http://filmmusiccritics.org), were announced in the United States. Dirk Brossé has been nominated in the category ‘Best Original Score for a Documentary’.
The annual International Film Music Critics Awards, which celebrate their 19th edition this year, are the only awards presented to composers by film music journalists. They acknowledge the best film scores, not only from the major Hollywood productions,
but from smaller productions worldwide as well. Call them the Oscars for film scores, if you’d like. For Dirk Brossé, it’s the very first time that he has been nominated for an IFMCA Award. It is therefore great news that he is in the same list of nominees as the famous Hans Zimmer with ‘Frozen Planet II’. Nominees in other categories are
Avatar, the way of water, Lord of the Rings: the Rings of power, The Batman en Fantastic beasts: the secrets of Dumbledore.
We will find out whether the ‘Our Nature’ composer can actually take home the award on Thursday 23 February, when the winners will be announced live on the YouTube channel of the IFMCA.

There are still some tickets available for the ‘Our Nature, the film Live in Concert’ performances by the chamber orchestra Prima la Musica, conducted by the composer Dirk Brossé.
