Lorenzo Allchurch plays Djata a care-free 12-year-old growing up in a brutal dictatorship shut off from the outside world.
When the government imprisons his father, Peter, and Djata and his mother Hannah are labelled traitors, the boy will not rest until he sees his father again.
Starring Jonathan Pryce and Agyness Deyn, The White King made its debut at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
Polish born composer Joanna Bruzdowicz has a wide assemblage of fine work including ballet, opera, symphonic, chamber, film and television.
Her film scores include notable collaborations with French directing legend Agnes Varda on Sans Toit, Ni Loi and Jacquot De Nantes.
