Mondo Records, in conjunction with Lakeshore Records, is proud to present a limited edition 'Pop-up' style release of Carter Burwell's soundtrack to the 2015 animated film Anomalisa.

Anomalisa - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack LP. Music by Carter Burwell. Package Design and Layout by Alan Hynes. 999 Copies Pressed on 180 Gram Black Vinyl. 1 Copy pressed on 'Cincinatti Sunrise' colored vinyl (Randomly Inserted).

Originally conceived as a radio play, Anomalisa is the brain child of Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Adaptation, Being John Malkovich)performed entirely by three voice actors, with music composed by the brilliant Carter Burwell. The film was ultimately developed to be a stop-motion animated film, produced by Starburns Industries (Rick And Morty) and directed by Duke Johnson, and Charlie Kaufman himself.

The soundtrack of Anomalisa is the best of both worlds, melding together an album that keeps the music front and center, but while taking you through the heart-wrenching narrative using stretches of dialogue along the way (including Jennifer Jason Leigh's rousing performance of 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun').

The album's packaging was designed by Alan Hynes, who previously designed our Fight Club and Grand Piano albums. He brilliantly, and quite complexly designed a 'Pop-up' style album jacket that recreates two Fregoli hotel rooms, with little added touches that bring the film's themes to life. You can read more about his design here.

If that wasn't enough, this limited edition, one-time pressing of 1,000 copies, has a narratively resonant chase - a singular copy pressed on colored vinyl. One lucky customer who purchases this album will receive the anomaly, pressed on 180 Gram 'Cincinatti Sunrise' translucent gold colored vinyl.
