Composer Davide Cavuti published a CD featuring the music that the great Abruzzese composer Alessandro Cicognini composed for movies by directors such as Vittorio De Sica, Luigi Comencini, Mario Monicelli, Alessandro Blasetti and Camillo Mastrocinque and starring actors such as Gina Lollobrigida, Fernandel, Gino Cervi, Marcello Mastroianni, Sophia Loren, Totò, Peppino De Filippo, Aldo Fabrizi, Katharine Hepburne and Clarke Gable. The music features the Paolo Di Sabatino trio with special guests Antonella Ruggiero, Michele Placido, Sergio Rubini, Edoardo Siravo and Vanessa Gravina: a righteous tribute to a film music genius.

Special guests include the singer Antonella Ruggiero, who sings three cues taken from the scores for “Don Camillo,” “Pane Amore e fantasia” and “Una romantica avventura,” Awa Ly, who performs two songs composed for the American movies “Summertime” starring Katharine Hepburne and “Indiscretion of an American Wife” with Jennifer Jones, the actors Michele Placido and Vanessa Gravina performing a written text by Anna Racinaro dedicated to M° Cicognini, and the actor/director Edoardo Siravo who presents some aphorisms about the unforgettable Pescaran screenwriter Ennio Flaiano. The CD concludes with the monologue “Nel segreto del fiume” written by journalist “Mikla Cantagallo” and performed by actor/director Sergio Rubini.

Recorded in Teramo at Arts Factory studios directed by Flavio Pistilli, the CD features theatre and cinema composer Davide Cavuti on accordion with co-arranger Paolo Di Sabatino’s ensemble including Daniele Mencarelli on bass, Marco Siniscalco on double bass, Glauco Di Sabatino on drums and De Sabatino himself on piano.
