Good spies know when to dig deeper, and so do fans of good spy music. (The same goes for good cops.) So it may be that to enjoy Mission Accomplished, Too, you need to have a bit of a need to investigate enough to find the unexpected: the 'funky people remix' of the theme from Starsky and Hutch by the James Taylor Quartet (no, not the vain guy), Rhythm Heritage's disco mix of the theme from S.W.A.T., and the theme from (ulp!) The New Avengers. There are plenty of surface gems that aren't common cuts, too: The Ventures' classic theme for Hawaii Five-O and their less-heard opening for The Streets of San Francisco, Quincy Jones's theme for Ironside, and Al Caiola's The Mod Squad. There are also deeper offerings from Lalo Schifrin (The Chelsea Memorandum, Bullitt) and Hugo Montenegro (The Invaders), and while it's not their best work, it's still plenty worth digging for.
