I love working in the recording studio and through some wonderful twist of fate I have found myself on one side of the microphone with John Yap on the other side many times. One time in particular, we were musing that I had done so many tracks for him for different compilation recordings that if we put them all together with some new recordings, we would have enough for a solo disc!! It was fun to see John's eyes light up at this notion. This CD is the result of that conversation. There was one track, specifically, that I believe was the driving force behind the whole idea for him. That was Glitter and Be Gay. I perform this number quite frequently in concert in a fashion that I believe is purely my own, unique and a bit wacky. I was thrilled to have John record and release it, to have and to hold forever and ever. Now it was my personal property. The rest of the tracks represent some highlights of classic American Musical Theatre as I have performed and experienced (some with John) over the years. I am grateful for the generous gifts of Davis Gaines, Doug LaBrecque, Christie LaVerdiere, Ron Raines and Max Von Essen, who add such varied color and thrilling vocal prowess to the duets on our little project and to Doug Craib who took a cloudy, rainy, NYC rooftop and turned it into a stunning, visual backdrop. Also a grateful thanks to John Such for bringing us (John and I) together. So we give you My Personal Property. Thank you all.
