It is the year 2004. Time travel is a reality, and a new breed of criminal has emerged with it. Suddenly, it is possible to alter historical events, control financial markets, even bring entire nations to ruin. The Time Enforcement Commission was formed to enforce a simple rule: No one goes back.
Now, someone has broken that rule - and Max Walter, Timecop, is engaged in a fierce manhunt for a corrupt senator who has acquired the power to change history. With time literally running out and his own existence in jeopardy, Walker must also confront the temptation to prevent a personal tragedy from happening - the murder of his own wife.
'The story of this film unfolds on many levels - romance, action, mystery and murder,' says director Hyams. 'At the same time, it revolves around questions we all enjoy speculating about: if you actually had the chance to go back in time and change something, would you?'
The exciting music score was composed by the ever-prolific Mark Isham. In a large-scale work which combines an array of synthesizers with a full symphony orchestra, Isham again shows off his inventions and proves that he is much more than just a virtuoso jazz musician who recently appeared on the new Rolling Stones album.
