The Professor And The Madman est un film réalisé en 2017 par Farhad Safinia avec Mel Gibson, Sean Penn, Eddie Marsan, Natalie Dormer, Jennifer Ehle, Steve Coogan, Stephen Dillane, Ioan Gruffudd et Jeremy Irvine. The Professor and The Madman a été l'objet de batailles juridiques entre Icon Productions (la société de Gibson) et Voltage Pictures, ce qui explique la sortie tardive du film!
Adapté du roman The Surgeon of Crowthorne de Simon Winchester, The Professor and The Madman retrace la collaboration entre un philologue écossais et un médecin militaire interné dans un hôpital psychiatrique, qui amena à la création de l'Oxford English Dictionary.….
