American Telecard Mickey Mouse Donald Duck Goofy

This 6 x 6 inch, thick cardboard greeting card includes a birthday message that can be read and listened to. In order to play the flexi-disc record that is attached to the inside of the card, it requires that the center hole be punched out and for the card to be separated on the perforated, folding edge.

The card was produced by American Telecard, Inc. for Buzza Cardozo of Anaheim, California. The record was made by Columbia Record Productions and includes a short message with music and dialog from Disney characters Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto.

The story on this record starts with Goofy acknowledging that the recipient of the card is having a birthday. He tells the person that he has his troubles because they are supposed to sing and to being with, Pluto doesn't sing. To make matters worse, Mickey and Donald are having a big argument about who has a better singing voice. Mickey thinks he should sing solo because he says he's a bigger star than Donald and has had his own TV show for many years.

Goofy saves the day when he tells everyone to get along and to just forget about the solo part. He asks everyone to sing along together - even Pluto! All characters sing 'Happy Birthday' while Pluto barks along. They being to wrap up when Mickey and Donald start having a few more sour words. Goofy makes a few Goofy jokes and thanks the little person who got this card for being so patient. The cast of characters give their final birthday wish as the message comes to a close.
