Subject Notes: EPCOT is acronym coined by Walt Disney in 1966 meaning Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow that officially opened on October 1, 1982 as 'EPCOT Center.' Over the years, the meaning of the name became less remembered and the park was officially renamed 'Epcot' as its own word in December of 1993.

Epcot est le nom d'un parc à thème de Walt Disney World Resort situé près d'Orlando dans l'État de Floride aux États-Unis qui a ouvert le 1er octobre 1982. Ce nom provient de l'acronyme de Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow (Prototype expérimental d'une communauté du futur, originellement « EPCOT Center »), un projet de ville imaginé par Walt Disney dans les dernières années de sa vie.
Ce projet était cher à Walt Disney car il cristallisait ses rêves d'urbanisme et de solutions pour le futur. Il mourut avant l'inauguration du premier parc thématique, le Magic Kingdom, étape préliminaire avant la réalisation de la ville. Le projet changea beaucoup pour devenir un parc d'attraction.
