World Soundtrack Awards 2013

Mychael Danna est élu Best Film Composer of the Year

Ce soir au Kuipke, la World Soundtrack Academy a annoncé les gagnants des World Soundtrack Awards 2013, l’événement de clôture du 40ième Film Fest Gent.

Mychael Danna a reçu deux prix pour son film « Life of Pi », celui de Film Composer of the Year et de Best Original Film Score of the Year. Best Original Score Written Directly for a Film est devenu Skyfall de Adele. La découverte dans le programme des films de l’année passée était sans doute Dan Romer & Benh Zeitlin avec « Beasts of the Southern Wild ». Maintenant ils ont reçu le prix de Discovery of the Year. Le public aussi pouvait voter pour son favori. Le Public Choice Award de cette édition est attribué à Rahman Altin pour « The Butterfly’s Dream » (Kelebeðin Rüyasý).

Après la cérémonie, un concert inoubliable et extra-ordinaire avec la musique du compositeur Français Alexandre Desplat par Le Brussels Philharmonic était dirigé par Dirk Brossé en personne. Des extraits de films mémorables projetés sur grand écran apporteront la touche finale à ce concert exceptionnel. Brian Byrne (« Albert Nobbs »), élu Discovery of the Year l’année dernière, et le gagnant du Lifetime Achievement Award Riz Ortolani complètent le programme.
