The composer Johnny Mandel wrote numerous scores for film and TV between 50s and early 90s and was known for writing film scoring for Robert Altman�s 1970 M*A*S*H (movie and series).

The composer Johnny Mandel wrote numerous scores for film and TV between 50s and early 90s and was known for writing film scoring for Robert Altman�s 1970 M*A*S*H (movie and series).

Mandel has received five Grammy Awards: Song of the Year for Tony Bennett's performance of 'The Shadow of your Smile' and Best Original Score for The Sandpiper (1965), Best Arrangment on an Instrumental Recording for Quincy Jones' song 'Velas' (1981), Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocal(s) for Natalie Cole's Unforgettable (1991) and for Shirley Horn's Here's to Life (1992).

His most famous compositions include �Emily�, Sidney Lumet�s The Verdict and Death Trap, John Boorman�s 1967 thriller Point Blank, Michael Apted�s 1979 thriller Agatha and Jack Smight�s 1966 crime drama Harper �A Time for Love�, Harold Ramis� 1980 comedy Caddyshack, Hal Ashby�s comedy dramas Being There and The Last Detail, Disney�s original Freaky Friday and Escape to Witch Mountain movies and many more�.
