In 1998 composer Elliot Goldenthal received a commission from the San Francisco Ballet for a rare three act evening length ballet. The ballet Othello was choreographed by modern master Lar Lubovitch and met with great success being revived many times by SFB and taken on tour to European capitals including Paris Garnier and Oslo. The ballet has also been produced multiple times at the Metropolitan Opera by the American Ballet Theater and multiple productions at the Joffrey ballet in Chicago. In 2013, Goldenthal took the opportunity to adapt the music into a proper concert piece. The result, Othello Symphony performed here by conductor Marek Mos and the AUKSO Orchestra of Tychy Poland was recorded in 2013 at Alvernia Studios in Krakow.
