First official release of the Nora Orlandi’s complete score for the iconic 1970 giallo directed by Sergio Martino, starring Edwige Fenech and George Hilton.
Lo strano vizio della Signora Wardh was the third and last score composed for an giallo film by the great (if unprolific) composer Nora Orlandi, after Il dolce corpo di Deborah (Romolo Guerrieri, 1968) and A doppia faccia (Riccardo Fredda, 1969). For the Signora Wardh score, Orlandi uses a melody written for the Fredda film three years earlier (The same melody was used by Quentin Tarantino in one sequence of Kill Bill Vol.2), which takes on new life and becomes the basis for a full and varied melodic score. Orlandi used an extraordinary variety of rhythms and styles in this score: lounge, samba, bossa nova, jazz, liturgical chant, suspense music, psychedelic sounds. Always elegant and sophisticated, it will be appreciated by lovers of European thrillers as one of the most representative scores of the genre.
This CD was edited and mastered by Claudio Fuiano from first generation monaural master tapes (with four cues remixed in stereo). The package includes a 16-page full color booklet with liner notes by Angel García Romero.
