The Life Underground in concert!

The Kurzfilmtage Winterthur (International Shortfilm Festival) and the symphonic orchestra Musikkollegium Winterthur, have joined forces and present upon their 25th anniversary a one of a kind prize for filmmakers. Filmmakers and producers could pitch their unfinished short films to win an orchestral score composed by the award-winning film composers Diego Baldenweg with Nora Baldenweg & Lionel Baldenweg. Besides a custom composition, the prize included one recording day with the full orchestra and an elaborate music mix.

This year’s winner of the anniversary prize goes to the young director “Loïc Hobi”. Thanks to this collaboration the film has already made its rounds by being premiered at the Locarno Film Festival and it has just won the SACEM prize for “best original music” at FIFIB (Festival International du Film Independent de Bordeaux) - a high level festival for fresh cinema in France.

As a special gala event this film will be screened with an exclusive live orchestral performance on November 11th 2021 during the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur. In attendance of Loïc Hobi (director) and Diego Baldenweg with Nora Baldenweg & Lionel Baldenweg (composers), the score will be performed by the Musikkollegium Winterthur conducted by Kevin Griffiths and featuring Jazz improvisations by Lukas Thoeni (Trumpet) and Jonas Ruther (Drums).
