Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo

I do not normally go for scores from animated features, well there was the time I went and got Bambi, but that was just for the one cue APRIL SHOWERS, any way, this release from La La Land records is a delight, it is crammed with some wonderful musical cues all of which are full of energy, and gives you that edge of the seat feeling when listening to them. The work contains some great melodic cues also melody, the entire score having that toe tapping and infectious aire about it. This is a soundtrack that combines, shall we say a more conventional sound but fuses it with a kind of big band feel which in turn is complimented by the use of electric guitar synths, electronics and chorale arrangements. I am amazed that there is so much great music here, its like the composers have written a cue of main title quality and power for each sequence of the movie that required to be scored. There is also an oriental style of music present, well I suppose that goes without saying, the title sort of gives away where the story is set, this style is subtly conveyed within the score and crops up mid action cue at times creating a more chilled out and poignant atmosphere to the proceedings. But for the majority of the running time this is an actioner score, a fast paced and high octane listen that I know will not disappoint anyone who purchases it. 26 tracks 54 minutes in duration its pure fun and solid sounding music. I would recommend that you go and buy this now, don’t simply think oh yes another kids movie wont bother with that one. Buy it play it have some fun.
