World Soundtrack Awards 2017: nominees

De genomineerden voor de World Soundtrack Awards 2017 zijn bekend en er zitten Academy Awards winnaars bij, een voormalige Discovery of the Year (2016) en de beste hedendaagse film en televisiemuziek!
Voorheen was al aangekondigd dat David Shire de Lifetime Achievement Award zou ontvangen, en dat Terence Blanchard eregast zal zijn op het Gala & Concert ter ere van 100 jaar jazz en cinema. Ook Joe Kraemer (Discovery of the Year 2016) zal aanwezig zijn op het Gala & Concert.

De awards zullen worden uitgereikt op het World Soundtrack Awards Gala & Concert (18/10, Capitole) in aanwezigheid van de drie eregasten en een aantal nominees en toekomstige winnaars. Meer info daarover en tickets vind je op de website. 19 oktober organiseert de WSA het Symphonic Jazz in Film Concert (Capitole). Hier wordt het awardsgedeelte weggelaten en wordt de focus verlegd van hedendaagse jazz in film naar jazz classics in 100 jaar filmgeschiedenis, met onder meer muziek uit 'The Man with the Golden Arm', 'Bullitt', 'Chinatown' en 'The Pink Panther'. Het Symphonic Jazz in Film Concert wordt verzorgd door zowel Brussels Philharmonic als Brussels Jazz Orchestra, waarbij de bijhorende filmclips op drie grote schermen worden afgespeeld.
