La-La Land Records propose un nouvel album contenant la bande originale de la série de science-fiction culte Voyage au fond des mers (Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea) créée par Irwin Allen sur la base de son long métrage de 1961 (Voyage au fond des mers) mais, ici, avec Richard Basehart, David Hedison, Robert Dowdell, Henry Kulky et Terry Becker.

L'album présente des sélections de la musique originale de la série composée par Jerry Goldsmith, Alexander Courage, Robert Drasnin, Lennie Hayton, Joseph Mullendore, Nelson Riddle, Paul Sawtell, Herman Stein et Leith Stevens.
Le coffret de4 CD est limité à 1 000 exemplaires et est disponible sur commande sur le site officiel du label.
Voyage au fond des mers (Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea) est une série Tv américaine de 110 épisodes créée par Irwin Allen.
La série est basée sur le film Le Sous-marin de l'apocalypse réalisé en 1961 par Irwin Allen.
Le sous-marin a été conçu par l'amiral Harriman Nelson incarné par Richard Basehart et commandé par le capitaine Crane David Hedison qui a remplacé le cpt. John Phillips tué lors de l'épisode « pilote » de la série, ce vaisseau est un outil de recherche océanographique au service de la Nelson Institute of Marine Research.
L'action se situe dans les années 80'. En théorie, le Neptune et son équipage ne sont pas militaires mais ils agissent souvent comme tels. La situation stratégique évoque la Guerre froide, mais l'ennemi n'est pas clairement identifiable car des savants russes peuvent collaborer avec Nelson.
Mille sabords ! Pourquoi cette série n'est-elle pas sortie en France en version originale sous titrée en français ?!
