De soundtrack van O Brother Where Art Thou is even helemaal wat anders. Op de score staan een heleboel verschillende songs die je doen denken aan het lucky luck tijdperk. De film speelt zich dan ook af in de periode rond 1930 in Mississippi. De muziek neigt naar gospel, jazz en country. Het is een genot om de sfeer van die goeie oude tijd te proeven.
Niet alleen in de film maar ook op de score is het nummer ‘I am a man of constant sorrow’ de grote hit. Er zijn dan ook vier verschillende versies op de soundtrack te horen, waarvan er wat mij betreft maar één echt interessant is (de laatste). Sommige tracks zijn wel erg oud en daardoor minder boeiend, maar al met al is dit een zeer plezierige soundtrack.
