From the composer of Star Wars , Episode One: The Phantom Menace
In 1985 Steven Spielberg took a rare journey into television. He produced a TV series which was, in many ways, a tribute to Rod Serling’s classic anthology series The Twilight Zone. Spielberg enlisted some of the greatest actors, directors and composers for his weekly campfire series: actors such as Patrick Swayze, Danny DeVito, Christopher Lloyd, Milton Berle, Tim Robbins, Clint Eastwood and composers such as John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner, and the lists go on. The most amazing story of all was that a soundtrack album was never released. Not even the John Williams main title ... until now.
This CD offers the world premiere recording of music from two of the Amazing Stories series’ best and most famous episodes: The Mission and Dorothy and Ben. Steven Spielberg himself both wrote and directed the hour-long episode The Mission, which starred none other than Kevin Costner and featured an epic and soaring original score by Spielberg’s favourite composer, John Williams. This CD also includes music from the episode Dorothy and Ben, composed by the late Academy Award winning composer Georges Delerue (Beaches, Platoon, Jules & Jim).
