Milan Records is proud to be releasing a limited run of 12' 45 RPM vinyl EPs that feature Keegan's original songs for Hearts Beat Loud.
Hearts Beat Loud is an upcoming music drama directed by Brett Haley (The Hero, I’ll See You in My Dreams). Set in Red Hook, Brooklyn, the film follows a father (Nick Offerman) and daughter (Kiersey Clemons) who become an unexpected songwriting duo during the summer the girl is preparing to leave for college.
A charming story of independence, purpose and fatherly love, Hearts Beat Loud has enjoyed a sterling debut at the Sundance Film Festival and subsequent critical acclaim on the Festival circuit.
A film so centered on music needs incredible compositions of its own. Fortunately, those duties on Hearts Beat Loud came to previous Brett Haley collaborator Keegan DeWitt (I’ll See You in My Dreams, Queen of Earth). DeWitt not only crafted the score components to Hearts Beat Loud, but also wrote all the original songs performed in-film by father-daughter band “We’re Not a Band”. His folksy singer-songwriter tunes function as a heartwarming emotional core to the film, and are a played repeatedly on screen by Offerman and Clemons throughout the entire film.
