“Tokyo Ghoul” is a Japanese dark fantasy action film based on the manga series of the same name. Directed by Kentaro Hagiwara, the film is set in an alternative where ghouls, beings who can only survive by eating human flesh, live among the population in secret. They hide their true identities to evade authorities tasked with hunting them. The movie follows Ken, a normal college student who, after being attacked while on a date, discovers he has been transformed into a ghoul. Struggling with his new life and the hunger inside him, Ken must adapt to ghoul society as well as keep his new identity a secret from his human companions. This sinister adventure features a score by composer Don Davis (The Matrix).
