Beetlejuice - 04/10 - Review of Tom Daish, submitted at
What should be the archetypal wacky Elfman score, isn't silly enough really. There are times when scores should be sensible, but there are times when you just have to have fun. The main Beetlejuice theme is wonderfully funky and it starts very promisingly indeed. From there, it rather spirals in enjoyment. The second track is fun, but rather short. Many of the others are just a little dull really and there is nothing much more to drag it back to being more exciting, apart from the occasional reprisal of the main theme. The two songs are good fun though, but not by Danny Elfman. For a great wacky Elfman score, I suggest Mars Attacks instead.
