Silva Screen Records presents a second soundtrack album for the Amazon/BBC limited The English. The album contains the expanded original score composed by Federico Jusid with 33 previously unreleased tracks.
Following the success of The English digital album soundtrack, Silva Screen Records will release The English (Expanded Edition) digital album on 27th January 2023.
The album contains 45 tracks, spanning all 6 episodes, showcasing Federico Jusid’s sweeping, nostalgic and raw score to Hugo Blick’s 6-part contemporary Western.
The entire album focus is on Jusid’s instrumental score, with tracks 13 to 45 being premiered here.
Music Movies International commends the score as “effective within the series and entertaining and enthralling away from the images… its majestic and sweeping work proving that the epic sound of the western is still alive and well“, whilst Film Score Monthly refers to it as “an impressive score full of engaging themes, exciting renderings of the Morricone spaghetti western style, and well executed contemporary action music“.
The soundtrack is available digitally on January 27, 2023.
The label has previously released the original soundtrack album with twelve score tracks in November 2022.
A CD version of the original album (welve score tracks) is also available on january 27!
The 6-parter The English is written and directed by Hugo Blick and stars Emily Blunt, Chaske Spencer, Rafe Spall, Stephen Rea, Tom Hughes, Valerie Pachner, Ciarán Hinds and Toby Jones.
An epic chase Western, The English takes the core themes of identity and revenge to tell a uniquely compelling parable on race, power, and love. An aristocratic Englishwoman, Lady Cornelia Locke, and a Pawnee ex-cavalry scout, Eli Whipp, come together in 1890 middle America to cross a violent landscape built on dreams and blood.
Both of them have a clear sense of their destiny, but neither is aware that it is rooted in a shared past.
They must face increasingly terrifying obstacles that will test them to their limits, physically and psychologically.
But as each obstacle is overcome, it draws them closer to their ultimate destination—the new town of Hoxem, Wyoming.
It is here, after an investigation by the local sheriff Robert Marshall and young widow Martha Myers into a series of bizarre and macabre unsolved murders, that the full extent of their intertwined history will be truly understood, and they will come face-to-face with the future they must live.
