The Franciscan monk William of Baskerville (John Turturro) and his novice Adso try to solve a murder case in a secluded abbey. They discover dark secrets and a deadly mystery. But time is running short: The inquisitor Bernard Gui (Rupert Everett) is about to arrive at the abbey.
