The soundtrack is available digitally since March 10, 2023.
Chang Can Dunk is written and directed by Jingyi Shao with Bloom Li, Dexter Darden, Zoe Renee, Ben Wang, Mardy Ma and Chase Liefeld.
“Chang Can Dunk” follows Chang, a 16-year-old, Asian American high school student in the marching band, who bets the school basketball star that he can dunk by Homecoming.
The bet leads the 5’ 8' Chang on a quest to find the hops he needs to dunk in order to impress his crush, Kristy, and finally gain the attention and respect of his high school peers.
But before he can rise up and truly throw one down, he’ll have to reexamine everything he knows about himself, his friendships and his family….

Current projects include Disney’s ‘Chang Can Dunk’; the upcoming Lionsgate comedy ‘Joy Ride’ (directed by Adele Lim), and the upcoming A24/Apple TV documentary ‘Underrated’. Past work includes synth work on Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet,' and additional music for the recent season of ‘The Mandalorian’. He has also composed for the three seasons of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s ‘Young Rock’ on NBC.
Recent accolades include a 2020 Peabody Award and an ASCAP award for his work on ‘Surviving R, Kelly’, as well as the 2020 Dean and Mary Kay ASCAP Foundation award. In 2021, he was nominated for a Sports Emmy for his work on the HBO documentary ‘Under The Grapefruit Tree’.
