Henry Jackman's score available on 10/15/2013

Varese Sarabande will be releasing Henry Jackman's score to Captain Philips on October 15th 2013. Composer Henry Jackman was tapped to create a riveting, complex score for Academy Award nominee Paul Greengrass' latest thriller, Captain Phillips. Based on real life events, the film stars Academy Award winner Tom Hanks as Captain Richard Phillips, who finds himself in a life-or-death hostage situation when his cargo ship is hijacked by Somali pirates. Captain Phillips marks a dramatic and poignant exclamation point on what has been a huge year for Jackman. This will be his fifth film released in 2013, with the first four combining for more than $600 million at the global box office. He wrote the scores to Kick-Ass 2, Turbo, This is the End, G.I. Joe Retaliation and now Captain Philips. Henry Jackman is currently scoring Marvel's Captain America: Winter's Soldier, set for a summer 2014 release.
