Re-release of the classic double CD recording of Leornard Bernstein's musical comedy 'Wonderful Town'.
Leonard Bernstein created three masterworks for Broadway clearly expressing his love for his hometown, New York City - 'West Side Story', 'On The Town' and the musical comedy 'Wonderful Town'. Like his other masterworks, Wonderful Town is brimmed full with the joys and vigours of Bernstein's youth. Fun songs are in great evidence, and the song 'Ohio' is recognised as the great anthem to middle America.
Three great stars from Broadway and US TV feature on this recording - Rebecca Luker (winner of a Tony Award for Showboat on Broadway/The Sound Of Music), Karen Mason (Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard on Broadway) and Ron Raines (Alan Spalding in America's longest running TV hit series Guiding Light). John Owen Edwards conducts the National Symphony Orchestra on the album, utilising the original orchestrations.
