The Golden Age Of Hollywood is the third title in the series, a three disc collection featuring 60 classic songs from the most celebrated Hollywood musicals. The period concerned, the so-called Golden Age, lasted from the end of the silent era in the late 1920s to the early 1960s and produced a wide array of iconic and magical musicals that remain incredibly popular today.

The roll call of productions represented here is exceptional. South Pacific, The King and I, Singin’ In the Rain, Carousel, High Society, The Wizard Of Oz, Kismet, Top Hat and Oklahoma are among the finest films in the genre, all featuring songs that have become standards. And the selection of artists singing those songs – the likes of Frank Sinatra, Clark Gable, Bing Crosby, Marilyn Monroe, Doris Day, Marlene Dietrich and Harry Belafonte – includes some of the most celebrated names in Tinsel town history.

Indeed, who can forget Gene Kelly performing Singin’ In the Rain, Judy Garland’s signature rendition of Over the Rainbow, Fred Astaire singing Let’s Face The Music And Dance or Frank Sinatra’s original (and definitive) version of The Lady Is A Tramp?

Presented as a deluxe 3CD box set with beautifully illustrated packaging that captures the glamour and splendour of Hollywood, this special collection definitively celebrates the greatest musicals to ever grace the silver screen – and their stars.
