Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific

Adapted from the Pulitzer Prize winning novel Tales of the South Pacific by James A. Michener

This recording of South Pacific is unique, because it contains not only the rarely performed 'My Girl Back Home', but also a song never previously on disc, 'Now Is The Time'; the theme of the song is present in Richard Rodgers' musical description of thousands of troops embarking on the military action they have been waiting for; but the song itself, a duet for de Becque and Cable deciding to undertake a reckless, probably suicidal mission behind enemy lines, appears in this version for the first and perhaps the only time!
